Puducherry Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi as part of her week end visit went to the Arumparthapuram Railway over bridge and inspected the work in progress.
According to a Rajnivas release here today,PWD chief engineer informed the Lt.Governor that one stretch of the bridge was not taken up,as the land acquisition process could not be completed ,due to a court case,for which judgement was pronounced recently.
The Lt.Governor inspected the Revenue Department to notify the Land acquisition Rules expeditiously and complete the Land Acquisition process to enable PWD to complete the work as per schedule.
Dr.Bedi also visited the Road Over brindge on the 100 feet road and it was informed that one side of the bridge would be completed by April next year and the bridge would be open for traffic.The other part of the bridge is scheduled to be completed by November 2017.
Railways would take up the work of pedestrian subway subsequent to opening of the one side of the bridge for traffic in April 2017.
