The ministry of health and family welfare,Government of India had given a special award for Jipmer on March 16 at function organized in new Delhi to falicitate the Kayakalp awardees.
According to a Jipmer release here today,the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, J. P. Nadda launched “Kayakalp”-an initiative for awards to public health facilities and released the Swachchta Guidelines for Public Health Facilities. The “Kayakalp” initiative is to encourage every public health facility in the country to work towards standards of excellence to help the facilities stay clean and hygienic. This does not apply only to physical cleanliness, but to develop and put in place systems and procedures for activities such as bio-waste disposal or protocols etc. The initiative towards total “Swacchta” in public health facilities is aimed towards building confidence of the users in public health facilities, provide quality service and encourage team work.
JIPMER was given the special award based on the performance of the facility on these parameters- sanitation and hygiene, infection control, hospital upkeep, waste management, community participation assessment etc,the release said.
Dr.Subhash Chandra Parija, Director JIPMER, Dr.Ashok Shankar Badhe, Deputy Director Administration, Mr.Jesurajan, Sanitary Superintendent participated in this event and received the Special Award on behalf of JIPMER.
Dr.Parija said that JIPMER is always keen about cleanliness and hygiene, and follows a comprehensive system in achieving the best results. He added that a well-qualified sanitary inspection team constantly checks the campus cleanliness and ensures the Quality and Standards. This special award is a significant recognition for JIPMER for its keen focus in maintaining a healthy and hygienic hospital environment.
